First of all, we need to make it clear that the A-level grades mentioned are by no means bad! They are just rather unfavourable in relative terms for applying for a place to study medicine.

From an average of around 1.4, you are inevitably obliged to improve your own NC. There are various strategies for this, but they do not make the same amount of sense for every numerus clausus.

Basically, however, there is no A-level average that makes it impossible to study medicine!

From an average of around 2.3 it becomes difficult in Germany

With this NC, or even higher final grades, it is no longer quite so easy to get a place to study medicine in Germany.

Why? The reason is that you either need an extremely good TMS result or a combination of training, FSJ and good TMS.

Nevertheless, it is not impossible! The ZEQ (Central Aptitude Quota) in particular leaves a lot of hope. This quota is used to allocate 10% of the study places and the admission requirements are completely independent of school grades.
