The Medical University of Białystok (MUB) offers first-class education and research in the medical field and specialises in personalised medicine, genomics, AI in healthcare and large-scale medical research. The university offers 16 academic degree programmes, including the six-year English-language MD programme, whose graduates excel in the final examinations for medicine and dentistry.

The application procedure
To apply for the 6-year MD programme at the Medical University of Białystok, candidates must be high school graduates eligible for admission to university and have good grades in at least two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics. The admission process includes an academic assessment (100 points based on school grades) and an interview (100 points testing knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics, maths and English). Applicants must submit a completed application, high school transcript (with apostille or certified copy), medical certificate, copy of passport and proof of health insurance. Applicants from EU, OECD or EFTA countries or with IB/EB diplomas do not require additional recognition, while others must undergo a nostrification procedure. All documents must be in English or Polish. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

When does admission begin and end?
The admission period begins on 1 December and ends on 31 August.
I don't have my final grades yet. Can I apply with my expected grades?
Yes, you can apply with your expected grades or the grades of the first semester.
Do you offer scholarships?
After the first year of study, you can apply for a Rectorate Scholarship for the best students.
Can I pay the tuition fees in instalments?
Yes, you can pay in two instalments. In exceptional cases, payment in three instalments is possible. This requires the written consent of the vice dean.
Do you offer psychological help for students in English?
Yes, counselling is offered free of charge by the university. Our counsellor is a trained clinical psychologist and a native English speaker.
Do I need a PESEL number?
You do not necessarily need a PESEL number, it is not compulsory, but it can make things a little easier if you want to apply for health insurance from the National Health Fund (NFZ).
Does the Medical University of Bialystok offer dental degree programmes in English?
Currently, the only programme offered by MUB in English is the six-year medicine programme.

Is a hall of residence available?
Many students in the English department live in one of the MUB halls of residence on campus, just a 5-minute walk from the hospitals. The number of rooms available is limited. We therefore recommend that you apply as soon as your admission has been confirmed.
